"Anomidae's INTERLOPER series has completely blown me away. If you've played a source game then this series will definitely pique your curiosity. With how deep it knows about source games, it was easier to get hooked on this series. It ended about 3 or so months ago and Anomidae has already begun working on another project called "Wanderstuck" which i'm looking forward to. I linked a playlist a bit earlier if you got some time to kill. Anyway, im gonna relax and play a few rounds of TF2C. Have fun!"

"It's been the background music of the past week for me. As just about everyone down here is rushing to prepare for that big freeze coming up. I just hope we don't lose power. Make sure to cover all spigots, drip your faucets, keep non-perishable foods stocked, all that cold prep stuff! Stay warm yall!"

Christmas At Crystal Valley Mall by モールFuture/Past was one of those albums I found on a quest to find some christmas themed vaporwave mixes. Like other genres, Vaporwave has branched into several other sub-genres with this album falling under the Mallsoft category. For a bit of context: Mallsoft is known for using corporate lounge music as samples which envoke images of shopping malls, grocery stores, lobbies, and other places where you'd get dragged to buy stuff with your parents. (A few examples are: 슈퍼마켓Yes! We're Open by 식료품groceries, Palm Mall by 猫 シ Corp, and my personal favorite, (A few examples are: Hologram Plaza by Disconscious) It was a no-brainer to combine the memories of shopping malls and christmas. With the smell of mall pretzels, plastic decorations, and the concoction of whatever bath and body works winter line was, this album conjures memories of going to the mall to hopefully get some christmas shopping done and get your picture with santa. I hope the holidays will go smoothy for y'all out there. As for the new year, I wish you the best. Stay safe, for outside is truly madness

Ok, I am so glad I was able to find these videos again! I stumbled upon this channel years ago and was devastated that it got zapped by youtube's god awful copyright system. From what i could gather, this channel is a showcase of a bunch of electronic music from the 70's to around the end of the millennium. If you know me, you'll know that I'm a slut for synthesizers. Especially the gloopy moog synths of the 70's.The first video that I remember watching is a snippet from Top of the Pops featuring a bunch of synth sounds that I cant get enough of. Especially Space's Magic Fly and the showcase of Giorgio Moroder's music with Here to Eternity leading to Donna Summer's mesmerizing song, I feel love. "
"This next one moves forward a bit into the 80's with the brightest clothes I have ever seen. Admittedly, this one was an ear worm for the longest time. It's Debbie Gibson's Only in my Dreams, which never fails to make me happy."
"Alright, this next video contains 3 songs but it's the visuals from the movie Le Bal (1983) that bring it together. One of the comments from the original video described this as 'a middle school dance but its with your co-workers' and I can't stop thinking about it."
"These next 3 are ones that I fell in love with when I found this channel again. The next video features visuals from the intro to the 1985 film Smooth Talk and is as 80's as you can get! The song Illusion from The Creatures really brings it together as if you and your friends are going on a shopping spree at the mall."
"Two more to go! Despite Christmas being 6 weeks away, I was not only very amused by the host (Who was jokingly referred to as Pee Vee German in the comments), but I was also incredibly jealous of the lead singer's hair. Anyway, the video splices Modern Talking's 1987 song Its Christmas with their live performance of Give Me Peace on Earth with a ethereal dream-like filter applied."
"Now this last one is a bit off kilter, but its probably because I'm used to listening to the original. Anyway this one showcases Microbots' trance dance mix of Erasure's Always with the performance by the Universal Motion Dancers on the Phillipine TV program Salo-Salo Together."
"Alright, that's it for now! Hope you check out Planet ASE and stay safe out there y'all!

Like a friend of mine said, you kind of give up the notion of having fall when you go past Tennessee."
"Anyway I believe I found this video sometime around late july-early august as I was listening to the first playlist I found. Man it is such a pain looking for stuff that isn't ai sludge. I'm just happy I found something that's human after trudging through all that ai filth. I hope some of these songs will keep the spirits of whoever's out there high." Here's some of my favorites: Jungle Blues - C. W. "The best way to describe this album is the memory of taking trips to the craft store to pick up some supplies for a project for school or to help your mom find some new decorations. Passing isles of pens, notebooks, pencils, colorful markers, and those weird styrofoam balls that you and your younger siblings threw at eachother. Welcome to the Craft Store feels as light as a feather, faint and simply there to accompany you during your shopping pleasures. Some of my favorite tracks are: Floral Department, Suitable for Framing, Buyer Uncertianty, Stylize with Home Decor,Christmas Decorations Already, & 40% Off Cupon"

Hop-Skip & the Chewtoys has made music for a lot of visual novels such as; Echo, Polar Night, Santa Lucia, No More Future, Super Nova, Remember the Flowers, Lust Shards, and In the Spotlight. There's probably a few more but those are the ones i could name off the top of my head!"
"This one track for No More Future is one of my favorites. Like many other tracks, it has this laid back feel to it and comes in with these fuzzy guitars that i cant get enough of! It probably doesn't help much that i have a pretty strong memory attached to this song.
So around late December of 2023, my parents dragged me to Tampa Florida to watch my brothers do band stuff. I think it was Michigan's band that they faced off against at the beautiful clearwater beach, which they totally blew out of the water. I mean who the hell plays the chicken dance and expects to win a battle of the bands? After the pretty one-sided battle, we went to wait for my brothers so we could talk to 'em. Thankfully the hotel was on the beach so it wasn't too far of a trek and waited for them at the bar in the lobby. There I was, in the least beach worthy clothes you can imagine (Boots, Jeans, A Green flannel shirt, and a Purple Rain t shirt), looking out the floor to ceiling windows that overlook the beach. Watching the people mill about and the waves roll in while this song plays on loop. I highly recommend you check out their work!"

If I remember, I think one of his mixes was one of my first steps into vaporwave."
"Elwood City Jamz brings a bunch of classic vaporwave styled songs that have been sprinkled throughout J Sanders' mixes all into one album. Looking back at it, this is probably what Elwood City sounds like despite the passage of time. At least that's the vibe I get. Some of my favorite tracks are magnetic stripes, spaceship, alike, visions, the cop, balcony, the specifics, and darlin'. Hopefully these songs can help y'all keep cool in these coming weeks!"

"So now its... well it's almost officially summer. I think the true date is the 22nd or so. Anyway it's summer enough, hope y'all are keepin' cool out there! So this one I found today while browsing music on youtube. I've seen Dreamcastle's original album but the narration kinda took me out of it. (Though I did find a version without the narration and some bonus tracks)"
"Instead of the Lego Castle theme, this album focuses on one of Lego's often forgotten Fabuland sets from the late 70's to the early to mid 80's. This album surrounds you with a warm yet faded nostalgia with its cascading sounds echoing into the distance. Yet there is an underlying sinister tone in the background as it nears it's end. It dips into the sampling style one would find with Boards of Canada. I would say it has the nostalgic warmth of their 1998 album Music Has the Rights to Children while mixing in the darker tones of their 2002 album Geogaddi. This comment from bandcamp perfectly sums up the album, "Fabuland is an idyllic little town of animal people where nothing bad ever happens. But a murder, a monster, and the warped edges of nostalgia have altered this cartoon daydream." Dreamcastle has also made other vapourwave albums such as one based on sonic and Lego's Timecruisers which you can check out! I know I will!"

"Well, I've been meaning to get this out earlier but i just got done dealing with 4 days of back to back severe weather. Anyway here's a soundtrack that's grabbed my attention thanks to a video. I'm a sucker for old synth stuff and a lot of this soundtrack has that Giorgio Moroder feel to it. Like the game, it sounds like the soundtrack for a late 70's early 80's action movie and I can't get enough. Gotta say some of my favorite tracks have to be Zugspitz Station, Matterhorn's Rise, and Pike's Canyon"

"Spring has finally sprung! Such an occasion means many warm days and cool nights upon us for the future. Ok, theatrics aside I'm a bit torn on winter ending. As much as I hated prepping the house for winter, at least I was able to wear my nice winter clothes. Sweaters, jackets, long sleeves, and man have i missed jeans! If i try to wear them in the spring or god forbid, the summer the oppressive heat of the south would melt me lmao. Guess it's back to shorts, tshirts, and my growing collection of Hawaiian shirts. Anyway, back on topic. I came across this mix sometime in late February. With all the trees and grass coming back, I thought this was a perfect mix to bring in spring in the deep south. Nothing like a bit of southern gothic to pair with the imagery of weeping willows and backwood bayous. A few of my favorite songs from this mix are: Flowers grow out of my grave - Dead Man's Bones,Old Black Train - The Blasting Company, Justin Rubenstein, It will come back - Hozier, Family Tree - Ethel Cain, and A quick one before the eternal worm devours appalachia - Lizard in the spring"

"This is one of the few times the youtube algorithm actually recommended something interesting. Anyway, this is an album by a relatively underrated composer from the UK known as George Garside. From what little I could find of him, he does have 3 other albums. Other than that, The Jester is an unfinished follow up to his album Oasis. George wasn't very happy with the music so he dumped the project, leaving the only copy in the hands of the guy he asked to do the art for the cassette sleeve. The artist, Peter Jolly, then digitized it and touched up the artwork. You can see the original artwork Jolly designed during the intro of the track "Puck". The music itself consists of a mix of cool ambient synth tracks from the mid 80's which is apparently common place in the works of Garside. I'll get to looking for his other 3 sometime in the near future. Other than that, enjoy this hidden gem and I'll see y'all next time!"

"Like the Halloween Album, this Christmas has the same feeling of picking up broken memories of Christmases gone by. The glistening of the lights in the neighborhood, all the decorations you'd see when going shopping, the anticipation for the big day, and especially all the Christmas specials & commercials that have been etched into your memory. Those memories lay scattered about as you wander an endless shopping mall that's stuck in time. I remember showing this to a few friends as we were talking about random music we've been finding. One described the first track, yearly windup, as "the wails of the damned stuck on the polar express." and another described the whole album "like post rock or Merzbow for people who like christmas." Anyway that's it for this one, I hope y'all have a decent holiday this year! As for the new year, I hope all of you find some bright moments inside yourselves. Outside is truly madness."

"While I finished watching a stream VOD of Vinny Vinesauce talking about strange art pieces (Which was really interesting!), I came across another VOD of his playing something called Frontiers of the Mind. From what I have found, it's a game where you explore a CD-ROM documenting the behind the scenes mysteries of a British television game show akin to 1987's Knightmare or 1993's Legends of the Hidden Temple. In fact, the game uses many edited screenshots from Knightmare's production which makes it all the more immersive! The game is like Hypnospace Outlaw mixed with some of the presentation of elements found in Analog Horror. One thing i really like about the soundtrack is that the artist incorporated the sounds of the CD drive into the beginning of each song! It reminds me of computer labs back in elementary school. If you are at all interested in this game, you can find it here on itch.io for free! Have fun!"

"The first video is a playlist i found a while ago. It's a bunch of songs that are as the title says, reminiscent of Over The Garden Wall. It follows the tone of the plot with several types of songs ranging from those sung in the grand old opera, to a few somewhat modern surprises. The original video was taken down but I was so happy that someone re-uploaded it. The presentation itself is incredible as it visually links each song to a specific part of the show. Perfect for getting into that spooky fall mood! The second one is a... unique album to say the least."
"I was checking Robustom's second PBS album after going on a Vaporwave deep dive (Which is really good, I recommend checking it out!), and while looking into the other uploads I find 2 holiday albums. Like a lot of Robustom's albums, I can describe them as a mashing up of different memories from when you were younger. Nowadays, Halloween doesn't really feel as magical as it once was. This album sounds like trying to remember those exciting nights of trick or treating and watching spooky specials through a haze of fog that smells vaguely of candy and freshly carved pumpkins. In some way the magic of Halloween is still there. You just have to look for it. Happy Halloween fellow Halloweenies!"
